Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This job is about using machines to make metal wire the right size and wind it onto spools . You make sure the machine runs smoothly, the wire is correct, and everything stays safe.

Responsibilities

You will:

Run machines that pull metal wire thinner and wrap it onto reels

Set up the machine before starting work

Watch the machine while it runs and make small adjustments

Check that the wire is the correct size and good quality

Load wire into the machine

Start and stop the machine when needed

Keep your work area clean and safe

Write down basic information about how much wire was made

Overall, this job is hands-on and focuses on machine operation, quality checking, and safety in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

General production experience.

Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Experience in metal fabrication and cutting.

Familiarity with measuring tools.

Capability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience.

Experience in assembly, forklift operation, machine operation, and construction.

Ability to work in a team environment and support other operators.

Commitment to accountability, teamwork, integrity, respect, and excellence.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Freeport, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $22.50/hr.
