Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Manager
Job Description
The Industrial Maintenance Manager oversees all maintenance activities within the plant, ensuring equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and safe, efficient operations. This role leads a team of technicians, manages preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and partners closely with production leadership to minimize downtime and support plant performance.
Responsibilities
Oversee maintenance of all equipment, including machines, drums, conveyors, dryers, pumps, and wastewater systems.
Implement and continuously improve preventive maintenance schedules to reduce unplanned downtime.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and guide technicians through complex repairs.
Ensure proper functioning of facility infrastructure such as boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, and compressed air systems.
Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, environmental, and plant-specific safety standards.
Conduct regular safety audits, equipment inspections, and hazard assessments.
Maintain documentation for regulatory compliance, including wastewater treatment logs, chemical handling procedures, and equipment certifications.
Lead, train, and mentor maintenance technicians across multiple shifts.
Assign daily work orders, set priorities, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Manage maintenance budgets, including labor, parts, and contracted services.
Oversee spare parts inventory, vendor relationships, and procurement of tools and equipment.
Track maintenance KPIs such as downtime, work order completion, and PM compliance.
Work closely with production, quality, and environmental teams to coordinate maintenance activities.
Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in meat processing, hide processing, or similar heavy manufacturing.
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial controls.
Experience with CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems).
Understanding of OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout, and industrial safety practices.
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with wastewater treatment systems and environmental compliance.
Background in processing, tanneries, or rendering operations.
Certifications in industrial maintenance, welding, electrical work, or related trades.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
