BureauAdministration: ManageForestryAssistanceBureaubudgets,policies,equipmentandadministrativesystemsto effectivelysupportprogramoperationsincompliancewithlocal,stateandfederalregulations. Plananddirectthebureau'sExecutivePlanningProcessandLegislativeBudgetrequestto ensure adequate funding for operations including the personal services, operations, and capital budgets. This includes determining current and anticipated funding requirements; drafting narrative justificationsto supportrequests;resolvingbudgetdeficienciesanddiscrepancies;developingand presenting financial information and program documentation; and providing testimony and responsesincludingthepreparationof fiscalnotesrelatedtolegislative proposals. Manage the bureau budget to ensure financial operations adhere to allocations, program plans, andstatutoryauthorities.Thisincludesreviewingexpenditures,evaluatingrevenues,identifying potentialsurplusesordeficiencies,makingappropriateadjustments,andapprisingleadershipof budgetstatus. Overseecost-share,grant,partnershipandotherfundingprogramstoprovidefundingandgrants forstewardship,fuel reduction, and other forest management services and objectives. This includes granting funds, monitoring project compliance and outcomes through subordinate staff, andensuringgrant compliance andreporting. Staff Management: ManagethestaffoftheForestryAssistanceBureauincludingtheForestPractices,Nursery,andForest StewardshipSections. Determine the organizational structure of the Forestry Assistance Bureau including subordinate reporting relationships, work operations, staffassignments and workflows, and initiate adjustments to reflect changes in overall division objectives,operations,and relationships with otherorganizationalunits.EstablishandmanagepersonnelservicebudgetsandstaffingforBureau programs. Determinetrainingneedsofstaffthroughinputfromsubordinates,analysisofprogrameffectiveness,newtechnologyandpolicies,andstaffperformance.Overseethedevelopment, delivery and evaluation of training for bureaustaff.Ensure consistency in the application of training opportunities for allstaff.
