GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Join the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) as aTemporary Sample Truck Driverin Cheyenne, Wyoming, and play a key role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our transportation system!

As a Sample Truck Driver, you'll enjoy the freedom of working independently while taking on an exciting range of responsibilities. Your job will include transporting vital materials to and from the Materials Lab and district offices, all while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining a smooth and efficient operation.

With the responsibility of ensuring material is secured, maneuvering the truck into loading and unloading positions, and planning your own routes, this role offers a dynamic work environment where your contribution directly impacts the quality of our state's transportation network. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.

Drives the sample truck throughout the state

Cleans and maintains the sample truck

Loads and unloads samples from field offices

Ensures samples are delivered to the State Materials Lab

Delivers supplies around the state as necessary

Qualifications

PREFERENCES:

Preference will be given to those with a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of vehicle operation and basic maintenance

Knowledge of basic computer operation

Ability to learn and understand the scope and importance of public and worker safety on the roadway

Ability to get along with co-workers and communicate with field offices throughout the state

Ability to drive long hours

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Necessary Special Requirements

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Extensive out-of-town travel is required

Ability to lift 50 lbs.
