Job Description
Job Summary:
The Construction Site Rigger handles the safe preparation, inspection, attachment, and control of loads during lifting and heavy transport operations. This role ensures that all rigging equipment is thoroughly inspected and utilized, loads are correctly connected and disconnected, and tag lines are effectively used to maintain load stability and control throughout lifting activities.
D2D:
-Inspect all rigging equipment (slings, shackles, hooks, spreader bars, chains, synthetic slings, etc.) prior to use to ensure compliance with safety standards and load requirements.
-Verify load weights, center of gravity, and proper rigging configuration before lifting operations begin.
-Properly connect and secure rigging to loads per lift plans and manufacturer specifications.
-Safely disconnect loads after placement, ensuring stability before releasing rigging.
-Use tag lines to control, guide, and stabilize loads during lifting and positioning operations.
-Communicate clearly with crane operators, signal persons, supervisors, and other crew members during lifting operations.
-Follow engineered lift plans, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and site-specific safety procedures.
-Ensure all lifting points are suitable and properly rated.
-Monitor load movement to prevent swinging, rotation, or uncontrolled motion.
-Identify and report damaged or defective rigging equipment and remove it from service immediately.
-Maintain clean and organized rigging gear storage areas

Skills and Requirements
-Rigger Certification (Advanced Rigger, NCCCO, or equivalent).
-Previous work experience as a Rigger in construction, lifting, or industrial environments.
-Knowledge of rigging hardware, lifting techniques, and load calculations.
-Basic understanding of OSHA.
-Ability to lift and handle rigging equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
-Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
-Strong attention to detail.
