Job Summary:
The Quality Manager operates as an expert in technical, administrative, and field support to the Project Managers and Superintendents for all Quality related items and stands out as a clear and well-respected leader on the job. This position typically works alongside the senior Project Managers and Superintendents and under the direction of the Quality Director or Project Executive. While still able to perform routine daily inspections and reporting activities, the Quality Manager is additionally responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with internal staff, trade partners, the Client, Designers, and local AHJs. Their presence on the job actively improves the Skanska brand and further reinforces the lanes of communication between Skanska and all other project stakeholders. They are responsible for managing the Quality Program on one large and complex job or on multiple smaller jobs and have a broader and higher perspective of construction that looks beyond the job they are currently assigned. The Quality Manager shall manage and delegate with intimate knowledge of all field and project management roles and seeks to leverage complimentary positions and skills within the team to further the overall Quality objectives of the job. They are creative problem solvers, excellent planners, and technical experts in constructability and a multitude of codes, specifications, and knowledge of regulatory agency QA/QC requirements. The Quality Manager is the ultimate utility player who will instinctively shore up weaknesses in the team and their processes with the goal of consistently ensuring better project delivery than would have been achievable without them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Read and comprehend construction plans and drawings and technical specifications. Possesses an expert ability to discern acceptance criteria from the approved construction documents and ensures that construction materials, equipment, and field installations are compliant with the contractual requirements to achieve Substantial Completion.
· Develop project Quality Control (Assurance) Program Manual in compliance with contract
· Lead Quality meetings and interfaces with project team members
· Lead pre-installation meetings and can compose and distribute meeting minutes in Procore
· Act as a direct point of contact for the Client and other project stakeholders for Quality subject matter
· Helps manage relationships with 3rd party, owner, and AHJ inspectors.
· Perform jobsite and supplier audits and manages job-specific Quality tools for tracking Skanska and 3rd party/AHJ inspections
· Review RFIs and submittals to maintain continuous knowledge of project changes and approved construction documents
· Supervise and implement corrective measures in cases of noncompliance
· Performs and delegates material receipt inspections to verify delivered materials are in conformance with approved construction documents and issues additional notification to subcontractors and project team when non-conforming materials are encountered
· Performs and delegates 1st in-place inspections, follows up with needed in-progress inspections, and verifies compliance and completeness of all construction works with the approved construction documents
· Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and contribute to enforcement of safety program on projects.
· Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner and Architect/Engineer and subcontractors
· Help draft and maintain RFIs, NCRs, and submittals for quality and constructability related issues
· Maintains the Quality section of the daily log or delegates it to junior staff as appropriate for the job
· Perform document control functions as needed to track internal, 3rd party, AHJ, and owner's inspection activities
· Assists superintending team with coordination and performance of on-site and off-site testing, inspections, and mockups. Capable of leading these efforts if necessary.
· Leverages knowledge of the construction and inspections process to help prepare the project for Milestone and Substantial Completion sign-off
· Manage the requirements of the quality assurance and quality control program to respective sub-contractors, suppliers and other vendors
· Manage a Quality staff, as appropriate for the job, which may include Quality Manager I/II and Assistant Quality Manager
· Willing to pursue additional professional certification/accreditation and identifies certifications that would be beneficial to the company (e.g. LEED, ICC, AWS, ACI, ASQ, SSPC, ASCE, etc.), takes steps to achieve and maintains individual and/or company certifications.

Additional Details
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree - Construction Management, Engineering, or 15 years equivalent experience plus minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
Required Qualifications:
10+ Years experience working within a project team contributing to coordination, development, and/or tracking of various project needs such as RFIs, submittals, NCRs, document control, project reporting, inspections, and close out activities.
10+ Years experience reading and understanding construction plans and drawings and the technical specifications associated with drawings.
6+ Years of experience in the construction of Commercial building projects or Heavy Civil projects (roadway, bridge, marine) with a general contractor/trade contractor/construction management/inspections firm.
6+ Years of experience in the construction of projects with a general contractor/trade contractor/construction management/inspections firm.
5+ Inspection certifications or accreditations from recognized governing bodies such as ICC, ACI, AWS, NFPA, NETTCP, NHI, FHWA, NACE, etc.
6+ years practical experience performing inspections for a general contractor, trade contractor, design firm, jurisdictional body, or inspections firm.
Proficiency in MSOS platforms
Proficiency in Procore
Proficiency in Bluebeam or other drafting software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Procore
Working knowledge of Bluebeam or other drafting software
Ability to track and inspect delivered materials
Good problem-solving skills
Detail oriented with a focus on delivering high quality results
Functions effectively as an individual or part of a team
