Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Description

Temporary Duration 1-5 months

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to perform a comprehensive Bank-to-Book Reconciliation for fiscal periods. The role involves reconciling ACH and wire payments, ensuring consistency between bank Payment Detail reports and Daily Composite reports, and consolidating bank activity with NAV payment journal entries by division and fiscal period.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed reconciliation of ACH and wire payments (no check activity).

Reconcile bank Payment Detail reports to Daily Composite reports to confirm cash disbursement population.

Consolidate bank activity and NAV payment journal entries by division and fiscal period.

Trace individual payments (by vendor, amount, and date) from bank to NAV.

Identify and document all reconciling items and exceptions.

Identify and categorize exceptions such as payments made via bank but not posted in NAV, payments posted in NAV with no corresponding bank disbursement, auto-drafts without supporting invoices in NAV, and intercompany settlement issues.

Investigate duplicate and overpayments by tracing payments to approved payment run Excel files and analyzing invoice-level detail.

Identify invoices paid more than once or paid via bank but still open in NAV.

Prepare detailed exception summaries by division, vendor, and fiscal period.

Prepare proposed correcting journal entries and payment adjustments.

Review findings and proposed corrections with Controller/Accounting leadership.

Post approved corrective entries in NAV.

Assist with A/P and cash clean-up efforts.

Deliver a fully reconciled bank-to-book file for P1-P5 FY2026.

Provide an organized exception log by period, division, vendor, and exception @type.

Identify duplicate payments and overpayment exposure.

Post approved corrective entries to ensure A/P and cash are properly reconciled.

Support documentation of reconciliation approach for future reference.

Essential Skills

5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in general ledger and accounts payable.

Strong experience performing detailed bank reconciliations.

Experience investigating duplicate payments and invoice-level discrepancies.

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets).

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (NAV 18 preferred) strongly desired.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to work independently in a manual, detail-intensive environment.

Strong documentation and organizational skills.

Work Environment

The role requires working independently in a detail-intensive environment, utilizing advanced Excel and Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The position does not involve check activity and focuses on reconciling ACH and wire payments. The work environment is manual and requires strong documentation and organizational skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ontario, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $49.00/hr.
