AWS Supply Chain is seeking a highly effective Principal Operations Leader to provide daily launch support and operational excellence guidance for our strategic third-party vendor partnerships. This role serves as the operational bridge between AWS and our 3P strategic vendor, ensuring seamless execution while building the foundation for future scale.
As Principal Operations Leader, you will be the on-site leader ensuring daily operational success, capturing critical learnings, and monitoring blueprint development from our 3P partners. You'll drive the creation of longer term labor planning and engagement strategies while supporting the broader strategic partnership of the organization.

Key job responsibilities
Daily Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Provide hands-on daily operational support to our 3P strategic vendor, serving as the primary AWS operational liaison on-site or through daily engagement
Serve as the operational voice in strategic discussions, bringing ground-truth insights to inform decision-making.
Collaborate with the Sr. Manager on supplier performance optimization across cost, quality, capacity, and delivery metrics.
Support Gemba walks, issue resolution, and operational rhythm to ensure manufacturing targets and quality standards are consistently met.
Drive rapid problem-solving and escalation management for operational challenges impacting production, quality, or delivery timelines.
Partner with hardware engineering, supply chain, quality, lifecycle management, compliance, and sustainability teams to drive holistic operational performance.
Metrics & Reporting
Establish and track operational KPIs that provide visibility into daily performance, trends, and risks.
Deliver regular operational updates to leadership, highlighting status, learnings, risks, and mitigation plans.
Use data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement initiatives and strategic recommendations.

Basic Qualifications
10+ years of relevant management experience in operations, manufacturing, data center operations, facility engineering operations, information technology critical environment facilities, advanced high volume manufacturing, datacenter build-outs and scaling, or similar experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a program management capacity and/or leading large-scale complex projects
Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or 10+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
7+ years of supply chain experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
