Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECH (SIMULATION AND TRAINING SYSTEMS) in the Trainers and Simulation Directorate of SURFACE WARFARE OFFICERS SCHOOL. Responsibilities You will explain the processes, requirements, or tools required to support operations. You will analyze system hardware, operating system software, test programs, and interfaces to isolate and repair system faults. You will interface with personnel (e.g., management, technical representatives, customers) to discuss technical issues supporting system operations. You will conduct orientation and technical instruction for new entry level technicians and operators on the operation, maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of electronic communications equipment. You will calibrate electronic or mechanical equipment to ensure test validity. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing Information Technology (IT) principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to accomplish assignments requiring systems analysis, software applications management, configuration management, and customer support; 2) Providing technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical issues including new developments and applications; 3) Utilizing modeling and simulation, information systems and training systems technologies as they pertain to simulation of individual trainers; 4) Maintaining system performance across all trainers and simulators and ensuring compliance; 5) Evaluating training system performance and maintenance to include troubleshooting defect hardware, software, network and system malfunctions.
