Medical Collections Specialist - Facility

Schedule: Monday - Friday, standard business hours

Position Summary

Will be responsible for performing accounts receivable (A/R) collections and billing across multiple insurance contracts and entities. This role requires strong analytical skills to audit and review accounts, ensuring accurate balances, proper follow-up, and full reimbursement. The Collector will monitor collection issues, communicate directly with payors, and resolve outstanding discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

Perform A/R collections and billing across multiple insurance payors and entities

Analyze and audit accounts to ensure correct balances and complete reimbursement

Monitor collection issues and resolve directly with payors

Process inquiries via phone, online platforms, and written correspondence

Take appropriate action on rejections and denials, including follow-up and rebilling

Identify misapplied payments and request payment corrections, adjustments, transfers, or refunds

Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to organizational and regulatory standards

Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of experience with hospital collections and payer collections/billing

EPIC experience preferred, but not required

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Bernardino, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
