Man-Camp location, including meals and snacks for the day. Employees will be required to book and pay for their own flight to Anchorage Alaska including purchase of own cold weather gear.
As a Equipment Mechan ic Journeyman for our PICCo District at our Willow Project , you will contribute to our team by:
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The roles and responsibilities of an Equipment Mechanic may include but are not limited to the following items:
Practice safe use of Hand & Power Tools.
Practice safe work habits at all times and promote safety to others.
Expert working knowledge of and experience working with as wide a variety of construction equipment possible.
Perform quality work as determined by the project and manufacturer's equipment specifications.
Accountable for all assigned tools and materials.
Assist immediate supervisor with coordinating future tasks to be completed.
Must work well as part of a team.
Document maintenance and repair logs on assigned equipment.
Repair and maintain gasoline, diesel, pneumatic, or electrically powered equipment according to specifications.
Maintains and repairs chassis, frames and bodies
Maintains tires, batteries, brakes and valves.
Assists with inspections and safety checks.
Maintains detailed maintenance and repair records in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
Keeps a clean work area, including tools, equipment, and material.
Plan and layout parts, tools and equipment components in an organized manner.
Work within all PCL and client guidelines.
Prioritize tasks according to job schedule and direction.
Assist in assuring all required PCL and client Safety and QA/QC forms are properly filled out and signed and approved by all required.
Participate in all health, safety, quality, and environmental processes.
Conduct oneself as a Role Model when representing PCL and in contact with project and client personnel, coworkers, other contractors, and subs, and the public and community.
Must have minimal of 48+ verifiable work experience as an Equipment Mechanic
Must complete NSTC training and be certified prior to arrival
Must meet all pre-hire DISA requirements
Must be able to work in extreme cold weather, walk extensively, climb up and down equipment within cold winter weather
Physical:
Essential Functions (not an exclusive list, as conditions may change to perform the work)
Must follow PCL's drug and alcohol abuse policy.
Must have visual acuity (with or without the aid of devices, such as safety glasses, or goggles) sufficient to read written material, labels, and other visual images in English.
Must be able to pass a post-employment offer physical exam, and/or other physical abilities test, if required by PCL.
Able to climb or descend and keep balance on ladders, scaffolding, elevated structures, and stairways.
Able to carry 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials without assistance.
