Position Description:

Performs routine administrative support or technical program assistance work. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions:

Provides administrative support to the Assistant Vice President for Research - HCBL that includes organizing and managing schedules and handling communications.

Provides coordination and support for all laboratories within the HCBL.

Maintain records and other documentation laboratory compliance as required by federal select agent regulations.

Produces reports and grant deliverable documentation in coordination with AVP and laboratory personnel.

Handles HCBL purchases through Procurement and works with laboratory directors and managers to ensure timely ordering of laboratory reagents.

Manages and reconcile travel for HCBL personnel and reconcile monthly procurement cards.

Works with laboratory personnel to ensure the timely scheduling of instrument maintenance and service contracts across all laboratories within the HCBL.

Proficiency in quickly adapting to any given situation to maintain a high level of efficiency and professionalism.

All other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate's degree in clerical/administrative area.

Working knowledge of Banner, Cognos, Chrome River, and Kenexa programs.

Previous experience in higher education, fund accounting, state and federal grants, and/or financial reporting.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of high school or the equivalent. Five years office experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Must take and maintain Security Risk Assessment by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Bioterrorism Risk Assessment Group (BRAG).

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
