THE POSITION
A new and exciting career awaits you! The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is actively seeking a Staff Psychiatrist to be a part of our Clinical Services team at Clarks Summit State Hospital. The Department is looking for individuals who are resourceful, self-directed, energetic, and compassionate to provide essential Psychiatric Services to our patients.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will be responsible for thorough workup of all patients under his/her care including performing detailed psychiatric examinations and making appropriate diagnosis in keeping with the current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association. Prescribes the indicated treatment orders and interprets consultations, laboratory and other findings.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
E vening, weekend, and holiday on-call hours may be required.
Work hours may change based on operational needs.
Overtime and travel as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
Special Requirement:
This position requires the p ossession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currentlywaived for this title.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
