Production Technician, Biomedical Manufacturing

The Production Technician, Biomedical Manufacturing is responsible for performing hands-on synthesis of dsm-firmenich Biomedical products in accordance with the dsm-firmenich Quality System and established operating procedures.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Performing hands-on synthesis of dsm-firmenich Biomedical products in accordance with the dsm-firmenich Quality System and established operating procedures.
Required to complete weighing and dispensing the required raw materials for the synthesis of production and engineering runs. Ensuring that the reactor and ancillary equipment are clean and ready for use
Responsible for operation, break down, rebuilding and cleaning of all reactors, extrusion equipment, pressure pots, and other ancillary equipment that are needed for the synthesis of dsm-firmenich Biomedical products. Provides sifting, packaging, GMP labeling procedures and extruding support as required
May be required to support training of other team members. Demonstrating process steps for on-the-job training
Responsible for recording and maintaining operating inventory of processing chemicals cleaning solvents from warehouse and proper documentation of the expenditure of these materials under GMP logs and SAP
Perform the disposal of Hazardous Waste that is generated daily and provide training for this process to other team members as needed
Responsible for the minor repair and preventative maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
Maintaining Reactor, pressure vessels, pumps, valves equipment Ability to enter work order for the equipment repair in Blue Mountain as needed.
Keep detailed and accurate records of all production activities following dsm-firmenich/GMP guidelines
Good housekeeping practices on the Manufacturing Area and equipment
Maintain accurate labor posting and timekeeping requirements in designated system daily
Report any observed unsafe equipment, condition, or practice immediately to a supervisor, management, or member of the Safety Committee
Adhere to dsm-firmenich Quality System procedures and the ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards
Accurately Documents manufacturing operations following dsm-firmenich quality system procedures
As assigned and properly trained; perform a combination of tasks necessary to ensure hazardous materials are properly handled, classified, and stored. Perform duties necessary to characterize and profile waste in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. This includes:
Characterize waste and apply proper waste codes and labels
Review manifests for any off-site shipments; assist transporter during shipment of waste
Maintain good housekeeping at hazardous material storage areas and perform weekly inspections of these areas
Respond to spills of hazardous material as directed

You Bring :
HS Graduate
3 years relevant experience in a chemical or industrial manufacturing facility/plant
Prefer experience with chemical manufacturing processes and reactor operation along with demonstrated ability to learn and work safely
Requires knowledge of learned routines, procedures, practice and more complex skills. Training in certain procedures or equipment required
Must possess good understanding of chemical safety and hygiene
Good documentation and communication skills required; aptitude and ability to follow verbal and written technical instructions
Previous experience driving a forklift desirable
Punctual, self-starter, dependable and detail oriented
Proficient using MS Word, Excel and Outlook
The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant's job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. (Hourly: $27/hour - $31/hour)
