Join Ecolab as a Manufacturing Technology Manager in Philadelphia, PA! The person in this role will be a strong technical expert by those on site. Their knowledge of ion exchange resin products and production processes will be applied to our G-Street production facility to drive continuous improvement in quality, batch to batch consistency, productivity and customer satisfaction. The candidate must have the ability to lead projects, engage cross-departmental teams and translate their expertise into real practical, sustainable results in the plant.
This role will provide line management to the process engineers on site and be responsible for the delivery of process improvement projects. The scope of this role includes communicating with other BPT facilities in covering global technology transfer for new products and processes onto site as well as improving those already in operation.
This person will also be highly proficient in process improvement techniques such as six sigma, SPC, data analysis, control charts and will be capable of converting the information in that data into real tangible and sustainable improvements on the shopfloor. Reporting to the Site Director, this role will need to be working closely with Production, Quality, Engineering and RD&E to understand business priorities, agree goals and deliver embedded process improvements within a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
The role will require networking, relationship building and effective working with other sites in Europe and Asia.
What You Will Do:
Process Improvement
Deliver the agreed results from improvement programs and priorities agreed with the site director
Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing process improvement projects to deliver step change improvements in quality, productivity, cost and customer satisfaction
Work closely with RD&E, Quality and Engineering to ensure the smooth introduction of new products and production lines to site
Train, coach and educate the site in process improvement thinking and techniques including six sigma, SPC and converting in process data into a stable and consistent process
Understand customer requirements and ensure that these can be met by the plant
Team Leadership:
Line manages, mentor, and develop a high-performing process engineering team
Ensure that your behaviour, words and actions always reflect the fact that safety is our number one priority
Member of the plant leadership team, working as a team to ensure that the plant delivers all its objectives each year
Work together with the site director to drive change, a culture of accountability and move the site towards manufacturing excellence
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare KPIs and weekly reports on progress in their programs
Help to prepare, and take part in, site OGSMs and Project Days
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or chemistry
Six sigma green belt certified, must be able to show real examples of using process improvement techniques to deliver tangible business results
Experience with suspension polymerizations, functionalization of polymers with pendant groups, general chemical processes, safety standards, and quality control systems.
Solid understanding of all moving equipment used in the processing of polymers and solid resins
Knowledge of Industry P& ID standards and adherence to safety regulations and local environmental codes for Ion exchange equipment design
Hands-on experience in equipment maintenance (PM & AM), online trouble shooting for maintaining operational performance efficiency
Experience of driving process improvement in a chemical plant environment
Proven leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Annual or Hourly Compensation RangeThe base salary range for this position is $133,700.00 - $200,600.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
