Summary The incumbent serves as the Program Support Assistant to the Office of Associate Director for Nursing and Patient Services, in support of the Telehealth and Rural Health Program. Responsibilities Assists facility Telehealth and Rural Health Nurse Manager complete program developmental phases, monitoring, and daily work-flow through extensive knowledge and under standing of organization, regulations, methods, and other tools or resource of management. Support all the administrative functions of the Telehealth and Rural Health Program and VA Liaison Program offices. Coordinates and collects necessary data for program. Works collaboratively with all clinical services and ancillary service, Eligibility, Business Office, and other department of the El Paso VA Health Care System. Assists in the preparation of all program reports, tracking internal reviews, quality measures, and efficiency of the programs. Maintains databases. Provides a complete range of program support which includes direct customer service, eligibility and enrollment procedures, coordination with medical teams for clinical services. Monitors performance measures and compilation of data for tracking, analysis and reporting purposes to meet goals and program guidelines. Prepares, executes and track program specific information such as congressional inquiries, suspenses, special funding grants, Telehealth service agreements and reports. Types, prepares reports, memorandums and outgoing correspondence concerning all Telehealth and Rural Health programs. Coordinates calendars for program staff and Telehealth and Rural Health program staff. Coordinates variety of interdisciplinary activities such as interface of Telehealth and Rural Health program with primary care teams, Non-Institutional Care, staff, High Risk Care. Maintains variety of files for administrative and professional activities including VA Central Office (VACO), VISN, local directives and policies/SOPs, VACO circulars, administrative and policy manuals, reports, etc. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. Telework: Ad-hoc Available Virtual: This is not a virtual/remote position. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledge of the Telehealth and Rural Health programs; extensive knowledge of the functions of the Health Care System staff, VACO, Telehealth and Rural Health and community partners to allow for accurate and efficient referral; knowledge of VISTA system to access patient information, process timecards, other supplies and materials; knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and Access to prepare reports and analyze data; knowledge of Telehealth management Platform and Virtual Care Manager software; ability to multitask, meet deadlines and prioritize work; knowledge of VA manuals and directives; excellent telephone and personal skills; and ability to proof read correspondence, reports and other documents. AND Typing Proficiency: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to @type at least 40 words per minute.
