Duties Description The incumbent will supervise a multi-disciplinary team providing treatment services to alcohol and substance abuse disordered patients with co-occurring mental health disorders. The incumbent will carry out such tasks as, but not limited to the following:- Lead and direct a Case Management work group;- Oversee performance of Case Management activities;- Supervise staff assigned to a case management team including preparing performance tasks/objectives, standards, appraisals and ratings; - Lead and supervise team staff in patient assessment, planning, and maintaining a procedurally correct patient record;- Ensure that individual and group counseling is provided to each patient assigned to a case management team;- Providing supervisory coverage that result from alternate work days/hours to ensure proper building supervision;- Serving as building supervisor / back-up supervisor for treatment teams in the absence of other supervisory staff;- Carrying out crisis intervention or other treatment services when necessary; - Carrying out didactic sessions; and carrying a case load of patients;- Participating actively in the Management Committee and other committees or work groups as assigned.- Other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Registration as a CASAC-Advanced Counselor or CASAC Master Counselor in New York State and two years of post-registration addictions counseling experience in a certified or licensed program. One year of this experience must have included clinical supervision.NOTE: Applicants must possess current registration as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York State. Candidate must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain certification and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.Mandatory overtime (MOT) is a requirement of this position. Chosen candidate(s) will be added to the mandatory overtime roster, which is utilized on a rotating basis. The MOT is applied during times of emergency, after the agency has made a good faith effort to have overtime covered and all other staffing options have been exhausted (volunteers, hourly staff, contracted staff). Our Addiction Treatment Centers (ATCs) operate 24/7/365 programing. Therefore, MOT IS an essential function of this position and is critical to maintaining adequate staffing at all times in order to ensure the health and safety of clients within the facility.Appointment status will be discussed in more detail at a later point in the recruitment process with candidates who are under serious consideration. Candidates may potentially be appointed on a non-competitive basis via the HELPS program. If applicable, additional information about the HELPS program will also be provided.
Additional Comments The salary range listed for this posting reflects the full range for this graded position, factoring in annual performance advances based on satisfactory annual performance reviews. Candidates with no previous State service will begin at the hiring rate (starting rate of the salary range) listed above, plus any applicable Location Pay/Geographic Pay/Shift Pay differentials.
