Our client is seeking a Senior Center of Excellence (COE) Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Front End Engineering Support. This is a contract role.

Primary Responsibility
In the Senior COE Engineer role, you will be a key contributor within the Center of Excellence (COE) team, driving results across critical performance metrics including safety, quality, delivery, and productivity . This role emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and technical excellence. You will support production needs through proactive problem-solving, mentor and train others, and deliver professional engineering services with minimal supervision.
You will interpret customer drawings and specifications for manufacturing and related products, design electrical circuits to meet application requirements, and create detailed engineering documentation to support drafting, procurement, and manufacturing. The role also requires direct interaction with customers and the sales organization on job-specific requirements, including drawing approvals and witness tests. In addition, you will provide technical guidance to production teams, support product marketing initiatives, and assist field sales with application support and negotiations.

Essential Functions
Maintain high levels of quality within assigned areas of functional responsibility.
Provide training, instruction, and production-related guidance to engineering and manufacturing personnel.
Utilize enterprise and engineering systems including POM, ENOVIA, Turnback, Change Notice, Office 365, AutoCAD, Microsoft Teams, and AS400 .
Effectively address and resolve conflicts to sustain productivity and teamwork.
Maintain current knowledge of product engineering technologies, competitor capabilities, industry practices, market conditions, and sales channels.
Provide engineering support for product marketing, manufacturing, and sales aligned with company and product line objectives.
Serve as the primary technical liaison for customers regarding product application, performance, compliance, and resolution of complex technical issues.
Review and analyze product configurations and components, design circuits, perform engineering calculations, and provide technical input to drafting, purchasing, and manufacturing teams.
Participate in company initiatives related to product design, market and product improvements, productivity, quality, and safety.
Attend and contribute to customer project reviews and drawing approval meetings.
Lead and participate in customer inspections and witness testing activities.
Provide project management support for customer orders to meet On-Time Performance (OTP) objectives, reduce cycle times, manage order changes, and assist with product warranty matters.
Support other COE team members as needed and perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
Follow and comply with all Eaton policies, including safety, quality, ethics , and the Eaton Leadership Model .
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Minimum 3 years of design and/or manufacturing experience in switchgear assembly .
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future corporate sponsorship.
No relocation assistance is offered for this position. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Greenwood, SC (Active-Duty Military Service members are exempt from this geographic requirement).
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of design/manufacturing experience in switchgear assembly.
Experience with POM, ENOVIA, Turnback, Change Notice, Office 365, AutoCAD, Microsoft Teams, AS400, and design automation tools .
Experience with PLC and relay programming .
Experience working with automatic transfer programmers .
