Job DescriptionOverviewAs an R&D Product Development Senior Scientist with PepsiCo, you will have unique opportunities to increase technical knowledge and problem-solving capability contributing within the Global Technical Brand Stewardship team. The team resolves rapid responds with ingredients, concentrate and finished product, reformulate market products to reflect changes in regulatory compliance and validate materials to ensure fit for purpose. Scientists participate in scaling up product from bench top to pilot plant and production start-up. Successful candidates thrive in an environment of fast-paced, consumer-driven product development.Responsibilities Fully participate in piloting / end user testing efforts in support of system enhancements Design and execute experiments; analyze and interpret data to make sound technical recommendations on product and process issues Provide technical and business risk assessment/perspectives related to new product development Perform economic evaluations on ingredients, ingredient suppliers, and product formulations Develop product formulations that leverage expertise in food chemistry and food ingredient functionality Partner internally with Global Science Platform and externally with key strategic vendors to source ingredients and leverage expertise in ingredient functionality Participate as an active member of cross-functional business teams comprised of individuals from a variety of disciplines, including Supply Chain, Engineering, PGCS, and others Partner with R&D disciplines such as Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Nutrition, and Regulatory to ensure a robust, safe and legal product design, and with Sensory & Consumer Product Insights to ensure thorough sensory and consumer validation Critical Competencies:The successful candidate will be experienced in the consumer goods industry and demonstrate the following skills: Ability to manage multiple projects independently to meet business objectives and to support the individuals of the workgroups Collaborate with cross-functional R&D partners such as Flavor, SRA, Quality, Micro, Analytical, and Engineering to ensure safe, stable, & legal products. Intellectual curiosity and ability to think critically & analytically Communication/Presentation Skills (verbal and written) Ability to provide thought leadership on tactical aspects of projects Outstanding time management, team working and communication skills Ability to analyze and communicate implications of experimental results Strong commitment to working safely and maintaining a safe work environment Ability to flawlessly execute laboratory bench work and pilot-plant scale-ups Must be well-organized, capture work details and learning and highlight any unexpected learning Must possess ability to work successful in cross-functional teams Computer Skills: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook), FSSCompensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $84,000 - $140,650. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually. Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.
