Hours: Part-time - 20 hours /combination of Monday 3:30p-7:30p / Tuesday all day / Wednesday 2p-7:30p /Thursday all day

Location: Plainsboro, NJ

Summary:

The Center for Pelvic Wellness at Princeton Medical Center (PMC) is highly specialized, offering progressive treatments for men, women and children aged 7 and older affected by pelvic floor disorders. Patient population includes, but is not limited to: bladder disorders, i.e., overactive bladder, urinary incontinence and interstitial cystitis, pelvic pain conditions, pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic support disorders i.e., prolapses, post-prostatectomy incontinence, sexual dysfunction, chronic prostatitis, hysterectomy, bladder surgeries, tailbone pain, bowel dysfunction/incontinence and constipation, and pregnancy and post-partum complications like pelvic dysfunction and delivery and perineal lacerations. Pelvic floor therapy involves specialized treatment from a physical therapist who is specifically trained in treating pelvic floor disorders with the goal of restoring a higher level of mobility, movement, and healthy function. Services are provided in accordance with the New Jersey Practice Act and the Bylaws of Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center, standards of accreditation and State regulatory bodies, and Code of Ethics of the A.P.T.A. Pelvic Wellness Physical Therapists are responsible for participation in staff education activities and providing consultation for facility personnel. They must communicate and document communication with other disciplines and service in order to provide continuity and coordination of patient care & may also involve administration, education and research.

Responsibilities:

Performs a patient examination in a technically competent manner, while making the patient feel comfortable in discussing their symptoms. Performs skilled services as necessary. Uses sound judgment and follows established standards of practice independently.Evaluates clinical findings to determine rehab diagnosis and outcomes of care Designs a plan of care that involves physical methods of strengthening and/or relaxing the muscles of the pelvic floor to help improve core stability and control over urination, bowel movements, and sexual function. Performs interventions in a competent manner assessing the response to care and adapts delivery of care to respect and sensitivity to individual differences performs reassessments as necessary. Completes patient goals, treatment plan, outcomes and discharge plan. Assesses needs for other services. Documents care given within the designated time frames within the Daily Treatment Note in the paper chart or in EMR to support the delivery of therapy services and hands off problems and resolutions to the case manager and the team.

Credentials:

Physical Therapist (Required)

The physical therapist must be licensed by the New Jersey Board of Physical Therapy in accordance with the Physical Therapy Practice Act of 1983.Pelvic Health related certification preferred at time of hire. This certification includes but is not limited to: APTA Certificate of Achievement in Obstetric or Pelvic Health Physical Therapy (CAPP-OB or CAPP-Pelvic), Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC), Women's Health Clinical Specialist (WCS), or Pelvic Health Specialist Certification (PHC)

Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)

Master of Arts or Science (Required)

Education Specialization:Equivalent Experience:

Ph.D.

Education Specialization:Equivalent Experience:- 2 years of treating pelvic floor patients experience preferred

Salary Range:

$41.49 - $66.15/Hourly
