Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate eager to gain hands-on experience in accounting and finance. This is a full-time, paid summer internship that provides the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment. Outstanding performance during the summer internship may lead to a potential Co-op position for the remainder of the year.

Position Description:

As an Accounting Intern, you will support the accounting team with a variety of tasks, including processing vendor invoices, reviewing employee expense reports, completing balance sheet reconciliations, and identifying and resolving financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking.

Assist in preparing and maintaining account reconciliations.

Research and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

Assist with special projects or process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Required Experience:

Qualifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (experience with Costpoint is a plus).

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Required Education and Experience:

Candidate must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program, majoring in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
