About the Role
This Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) role is ideal for someone ready to step into strategic HR work, even if you haven't officially held an HRBP title before.
You might be:
A people leader who has worked closely with HR, facilitated meetings, trained leaders, or led teams and wants to pivot into a full-time HRBP role
An HR professional (HR Generalist, HR Manager, ER Specialist, Recruiter, or similar) ready to operate at a more strategic, consultative level
A leader from operations, healthcare, education, government, or corporate environments with strong employee relations, facilitation, and change management experience
If you enjoy influencing leaders, presenting to groups, shaping employee culture, and partnering across multiple locations in a hybrid, field-based role, this position was designed with you in mind.
What You'll Do
As an HRBP, you'll partner with leaders and teams across the state to drive results through people, balancing strategy, execution, and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on employee relations, performance management, engagement, and workforce planning
Partner with leadership to translate business goals into practical HR and culture-forward strategies
Design and deliver presentations and training for leaders and employees on HR topics, leadership effectiveness, policy, and employee relations best practices
Coach managers through complex people situations, difficult conversations, and leadership development opportunities
Actively assess and influence employee culture, engagement, morale, and workplace dynamics across multiple locations
Support organizational change initiatives, restructures, and talent planning efforts while maintaining trust and transparency
Ensure consistent and compliant application of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws
Identify trends in employee feedback, concerns, and behavior, recommend and lead proactive solutions
Collaborate with Recruiting, Learning & Development, Compensation, etc.
Travel regularly throughout the state to support leaders and employees and maintain a visible HR presence
What We're Looking For
We are intentionally open to non-traditional HRBP backgrounds. You do not need prior HRBP experience to be successful here.
You're a strong fit if you have:
Experience leading teams, facilitating meetings, training others, or managing complex employee situations
OR progressive HR experience with exposure to employee relations, performance management, or policy application
Comfort presenting to groups and training leaders, both formally and informally
A demonstrated ability to build trust, influence culture, and navigate sensitive conversations
Strong judgment, discretion, and emotional intelligence
Confidence partnering with leaders at various levels, even when conversations are challenging
Willingness and ability to work a hybrid schedule and travel statewide on a regular basis
The ability to connect employee experience and culture to business outcomes
Excellent communication, listening, and influencing skills
A learning mindset and curiosity about strategic HR work
Education & Credentials (Nice to Have, Not Required)
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field
Master's degree (MBA, MHRM, or similar)
Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent)
Candidates who do not meet the preferred education requirements may still be considered if they bring extensive, relevant experience demonstrating strong leadership capability, employee relations expertise, and readiness to operate at the HRBP level.
Why This Role Is Different
Built for growth: We expect you to learn and develop into the HRBP role, we don't expect perfection on day one
Culture matters here: You'll have real influence on how employees experience leadership, communication, and change
Hybrid & flexible: A mix of on-site, field, and remote work that supports relationship-building and balance
Visible impact: You'll work directly with leaders and employees across the state
Supportive HR team: Mentorship and collaboration are core to how we work
Seat at the table: Your voice will matter
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you'll:
Be a trusted partner to leadership teams across multiple locations
Confidently present, train, and coach leaders on people-related topics
Positively influence employee culture, engagement, and leadership behaviors
Navigate employee relations with confidence and consistency
Contribute to HR strategy, not just execution
Ready to Pivot?
If you've ever thought:
"I already do half of this-just without the HRBP title."
We encourage you to apply.
