Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Fort Lee, New Jersey. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations. If you have strong accounting skills and experience with Excel, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.

Manage general ledger accounts and perform reconciliations as needed.

Handle accounts payable processes, including invoice review and payment scheduling.

Conduct bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash flow records.

Utilize Yardi software for accounting tasks and reporting.

Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial standards and regulations.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Generate financial reports and provide insights for decision-making.

Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting documentation.

Support the team with ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as required.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.

Proficiency in Excel functions.

Strong understanding of journal entries and general ledger processes.

Experience with accounts payable and bank reconciliations.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Familiarity with financial reporting and analysis.

Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members.
