Our Deposit Operations team within Bank Operations involves managing backend processing and support for UMB's deposit accounts, handling daily transactions (i.e. ACH, wires, checks, etc.), resolving exceptions, balancing GL accounts...just to name a few.
As the Deposit Operations Manager, you will oversee daily operations for account reconciliation, account servicing functions, incoming/outgoing returns processing, exceptions, charge-off and recovery processes, as well as maintaining regulatory and compliance tasks. You will also be responsible for leading and coaching Operations Managers and teams, as well as setting performance expectations and fostering accountability as well as continuous improvement. This also includes identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and enhance the customer experience in partnership with various business partners. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by Bank Operations leadership.
This role is hybrid (Mon through Thu on-site / Fri remote) at the UMB Technology & Operations Center located in downtown Kansas City, MO.
How you'll spend your time:
Execute the overall strategy and direction of the bank by consistently meeting & exceeding business objectives.
Own and actively monitor expenses, consistently striving to operate at or below current budget level for each department.
Responsible for the Operations Managers of respective teams and for the delivery of the overall operational metrics and targets.
Proactively maintain regular engagement with key client contacts in line with client expectations.
Ensure delivery of client KPIs including day to day service levels, customer experience, quality measures and compliance measures.
Responsible for the development of the operational talent pool by optimizing the skills of the Operations Managers & existing teams, in partnership with our internal recruitment teams to attract the very best talent; succession planning will be in place to ensure key roles are filled and individual talent is recognized.
Successfully deliver and manage peak periods in respective teams.
Continuous identification & implementation of operational best practices through interaction with business partners.
Execute a well-defined communication and engagement model to ensure all teams understand the performance of our business and that they understand the needs of their teams.
Provide Vendor management support.
Review and analyze production reports relating to productivity/quality/efficiency and follow up on gaps in standards and expectations.
Challenge, develop and improve process efficiencies.
Set challenging goals that will promote innovation, creativity and development of staff and managers.
Develop, monitor and enforce the use of documented controls as part of our organizational risk management process.
Remain current, provide support and maintain documentation as it relates to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity activities.

At least 5 years of managerial experience.

Compensation Range:
$69,230.00 - $149,000.00
