Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience. Completion of defensive driver course within 30 days of hire. Must possess a current Texas Class "C" driver's license.

Job Description:

To provide for the routine operation and minor maintenance of university vehicles in the transportation of materials or passengers

Job Duties:

Transfer patients and other assigned passengers on and/or off campus, assisting them in entering and exiting the vehicle.

Deliver and/or retrieve materials as instructed.

Assists in the loading and unloading of materials from the vehicle.

Maintains daily log of mileage, number of trips, passengers/cargo, destination, and fuel and oil consumption.

Inspects the condition of the assigned vehicle on a regular basis with regard to oil, fuel, tires, and water.

Reports any needed adjustments or repairs to supervisors.

Adheres to internal controls established for the department.

Performs related duties as required.

Equipment:

Operation of vehicles, including trucks or vans.

Working Environment:

Lifting and moving heavy objects. Drive vehicles under adverse weather conditions and have the ability to cope with emergency driving situations.

Salary Range:

Actual salary commensurate with experience.

Work Schedule:

The work schedule will be Monday through Friday with occasional weekends/holidays.
