Job Title: Accounting Clerk

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk to support daily financial and administrative operations in our Cromwell, CT office. This role is fully onsite and requires a detail-oriented professional with strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and billing codes, with bonus consideration for those familiar with Medicare/Medicaid billing processes.

Responsibilities

Process incoming payments and outgoing vendor invoices

Maintain accurate records of customer and vendor transactions

Resolve discrepancies and communicate with internal and external stakeholders as needed

Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness

Assist with month-end accounting processes where applicable

Work with billing codes to ensure proper categorization and processing

Support billing functions, including Medicare/Medicaid billing (preferred)

Assist with general administrative tasks to support the finance team

Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems

Essential Skills

2+ years of accounting experience with exposure to AR, AP, and reconciliation

Strong understanding of accounts receivable and payable processes

High attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organizational and communication skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with MIP or Sage preferred

Experience with Medicare/Medicaid billing highly preferred

GAAP: exposure to reconciliations, collections, general ledger

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cromwell, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
