Job Description
This is a contracted appointment that may last up to two years in duration. Paid internships occur throughout the State of Michigan.
This position provides organizational efficiency by supporting/backing-up the administrative support staff in the MDOT Metro Region office as well as across Metro Region, which includes offices in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. The duties include:
receptionist, maintaining the conference rooms (calendars and equipment), as well as knowledge of the A/V equipment to assist visitors/employees utilizing the rooms. Making payments in SIGMA, creating/maintaining Excel spreadsheets; typing, editing/proofreading documents for proper grammar,mail distribution, copy/ distribute various @types of correspondence/documents, data entry, completing forms, schedule meetings, filing, ordering name plates, business cards, answering phone calls utilizing 8x8 app, updating pothole/damage claim reports, maintaining the Metro Region pool vehicles; making service calls, transporting, ensuring oil changes are done timely, vehicles have gas, gas cards, and the vehicle logs/binders are up to date and submitted timely. The employee in this position is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the documents/information, other administrative duties as assigned.
