This is a highly visible leadership position within the R&D Finance organization with responsibility for the financial management of Neurology early and late development studies across the Company, managing a budget of $0.6B . The successful candidate will be an influential and collaborative finance professional who leads beyond the role and effectively interacts and influences at all levels of the organization. The role will partner extensively with Neurology R&D leadership to provide sound financial advice and strategic decision support, to fully understand the development plans, key study drivers, and operational execution so that cost estimates and study accounting is properly reported. Key responsibilities of this role include leading the Neurology budget and projection process , support for the Portfolio Prioritization process, monthly close activities, P&L and balance sheet analyses, governance support and achieving financial goals.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Lead Neurology Budget and Projection Activities and Support Portfolio Prior itization processes
Key business partner for Neurology leadership.
Lead budget and projection preparation, develop a deep understanding of study objectives and assumptions so these drivers can be translated into financial forecasts.
Perform robust analysis of changes in assumptions to understand and articulate variance drivers.
Partner with cross-functional teams across the organization and various geographies to evaluate the Neurology strategic investments.
Drive planning of meetings and review with stakeholders so that all deliverables are completed in a timely manner and deadlines are met.
Partner with TA teams, Commercial and Portfolio Strategy to support Portfolio Prioritization.
Provide finance estimates to support governance interactions (e.g. CDOC & APOC).
Participate & present in Neurology leadership team meetings.
Maintain an open line of communication with Global Program Leads (GPLs), R&D Finance Leadership, and various other stakeholders.
Month-End Close, Variance Analyses and Reporting
Lead Neurology monthly close activities, including P&L and Balance Sheet analyses, leveraging the Associate Directors R&D Portfolio Analysis colleagues and the Hyderabad team to support delivering on R&D objectives.
Analyze and identify root causes for significant variances, through critical and analytical thinking. Demonstrated proficiency in navigating and utilizing financial systems and tools with ease and familiarity.
Ensure quarterly finance reviews with study teams include robust dialogue and open and transparent communication so study performance is accurately reflected in financials.
Ensure the overall financial controls are designed and operating effectively across the Neurology portfolio.
Partner with broader Finance and GDO teams on special projects and improvements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education of a BS/BA or equivalent is required. MBA or CPA is preferred.
Minimum of ten (10) years of finance experience with significant exposure to financial reporting, internal controls, and technical accounting.
Proficiency with U.S. GAAP and general knowledge of business laws and regulations.
Ability to prepare and defend financial analyses to support decision making, investigate and conclude on complex accounting issues.
Must be able to present concisely and influentially in both oral and written format to all levels of management.
Able to use technology to support simplification and standardization of reporting and analysis.
Ability to assess available resources, set priorities, and make informed decisions regarding the allocation of resources to various projects, initiatives, and activities, taking into account costs, risks and potential return on investment.
The ability to identify and proactively address potential risks and uncertainties within an organization, including the development and implementation of preventive and corrective measures to minimize the impact of the identified risks.

Madison - Giralda - NJ - US: $187,510 - $227,218
Princeton - NJ - US: $187,510 - $227,218
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays
Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.
All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.
*Eligibility Disclosure: T he summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
