Description The non-registered Sleep Disorder Technologist is an entry-level position responsible for helping to maintain or restore maximum functioning of the patient's cardiopulmonary system in accordance with physician orders and/or departmental protocols. Required to exercise initiative in developing ideas or in responding to or adjusting problem situations. Typically reports to the supervisor who evaluates ideas. Work processes and assignments for patients of all ages frequently require the incumbent to interpret and apply operating procedures, technical standards, and/or protocols to problems of varying degrees of complexity. This position provides quality diagnostic sleep services to patients of all ages, adjusting approach to meet the age specific needs of assigned patients. Responsible fir calibration and quality control of diagnostic sleep equipment. Assures that reports are accurate and ready for interpreting physician in a timely manner. Scores polysomnographic recordings accurately and records pertinent technical notes to aid reading physicians in diagnosis of sleep disorders. Participates in performance improvement activities as requested in an effort to continually improve the quality of services offered. Reports to the Supervisor Sleep Disorders. Coursework/Training - Enrollment in ASTEP Program. National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. Preferred Qualifications: 2 years - Recent experience in the field of Sleep Study technology. 1 year - Healthcare related experience. Why Join Providence? Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
