HPD is entrusted with fulfilling these objectives through the goals and strategies of Housing Our Neighbors: A Blueprint for Housing and Homelessness, Mayor Adams' comprehensive housing framework. To support this important work, the administration has committed $5 billion in new capital funding, bringing the 10-year planned investment in housing to $22 billion the largest in the city's history. This investment, coupled with a commitment to reduce administrative and regulatory barriers, is a multi-pronged strategy to tackle New York City's complex housing crisis, by addressing homelessness and housing instability, promoting economic stability and mobility, increasing homeownership opportunities, improving health and safety, and increasing opportunities for equitable growth.
Your Team:
Housing Preservation & Development Technology (HPD Tech) is the IT division within HPD. The Office of HPD Tech leads the agency's effort to transform HPD through technology by promoting productivity and eliminating manual processing, shrinking costs, and increasing the pace of work. HPD Tech works to improve effectiveness of business processes using core applications for flawless execution. HPD Tech empowers decision makers with access to quality (complete and accurate) information to anticipate and pro-actively react to building, neighborhood and market conditions.
The Office of HPDTech is composed of 9 units: CIO, Budget, Enterprise Architecture, Ideation, Infrastructure Network and Systems, Planning & Compliance, Product Area, Release & Service Management, and Security Your Impact:
As the Assistant Cloud Administrator for the Division of HPD TECH:
The Assistant Cloud Administrator works to maintain the infrastructure and functionality of a Agency's cloud environments also utilized by Section8\HAS. You will assist the clients in installing and troubleshooting clients to access their cloud services, while working alongside the cloud Administrator to ensure that cloud services continue to function and the service level agreements for function and availability are maintained. You will create, maintain and troubleshoot all parts of the HPD cloud environments with heavy focus on the Section 8 \ HAS Elite on AVD environment within Azure.
Your Role:
Your role will be to assist the HPDTECH Cloud Administrator(s) in all day-to-day duties including but not limited to what is mentioned in the responsibilities and skills required in this document. You will maintain the cloud environment, ensure the environment is up to date with all patches and configuration with attention to cost savings and performance. You will perform troubleshooting on all levels of the environment from Cloud Administration to AVD instances and end user issues with heavy focus on the Section 8 \ HAS Elite on AVD environment within Azure.
Your Responsibilities:
Provision resources and maintain the cloud environment by adding new servers or databases as needed.
Examine performance metrics, identify, troubleshoot and correct issues within cloud environments to ensure highest possible levels of performance.
Coordinate with vendors and other internal teams to ensure that any issues are both communicated with department heads and are quickly resolved.
Manage security for cloud environments by monitoring access requests and reviewing security logs for suspicious activity.
Maintain and upgrade existing cloud environment components and OS to ensure optimal performance & up to date patch levels.
Manage Azure cloud resources, including creating virtual machines, scale-sets, storage, storage accounts, Virtual Networks, databases, and other resources etc.
Develop new features and functionality for existing systems while maintaining performance standards.
Monitor system performance to ensure that it meets business requirements. Identify potential issues before they become problems and recommending solutions.
Provide technical support for the cloud computing platform to internal customers who use the platform for their day-to-day work.
Provide technical backend and end user support for Sectin8\HAS Elite Published app
Required Skills:
Ability to manage Azure cloud resources, including creating virtual machines, scale-sets, storage, storage accounts, Virtual Networks, databases, and other resources.
Ability to provision resources and maintain the cloud environment by adding new servers or databases as needed.
Ability to maintain and upgrade existing cloud environments and Operating Systems to ensure optimal performance & Security Patch levels.
Ability to examine performance metrics and troubleshoot issues with cloud environments to ensure the highest levels of performance and availability.

Understand, Monitor and Support Section8 \ HAS Elite System on AVD on Azure environment
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Azure virtual desktop, o365,Teams ,logs ,cli,powershell and log analytics will be an added advantage.

COMPUTER SPECIALIST (SOFTWARE) - 13632
Qualifications
(1) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in computer science or a related computer field and two (2) years of satisfactory full-time software experience in designing, programming, debugging, maintaining, implementing, and enhancing computer software applications, systems programming, systems analysis and design, data communication software, or database design and programming, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or
(2) A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six (6) years of full-time satisfactory software experience as described in "1" above, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or
(3) A satisfactory combination of education and experience that is equivalent to (1) or (2) above. College education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in (2) above on the basis that sixty (60) semester credits from an accredited college is equated to one year of experience. A masters degree in computer science or a related computer field may be substituted for one year of the required experience in (1) or (2) above. However, all candidates must have a four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, plus at least one (1) year of satisfactory full-time software experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.
NOTE: In order to have your experience accepted as Project Leader or Major Contributor experience, you must explain in detail how your experience qualifies you as a project leader or as a major contributor. Experience in computer operations, technical support, quality assurance (QA), hardware installation, help desk, or as an end user will not be accepted for meeting the minimum qualification
requirements.
Special Note
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level IV, in addition to the Qualification Requirements stated above, individuals must have one year of satisfactory experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project in data administration, database management systems, operating systems, data communications systems, capacity planning, and/or on-line applications programming.
