Senior Accountant - Retail

Location: Menlo Park, CA

Schedule: Full-Time | 100% Onsite

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support our retail operations with accurate financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, highly organized accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Senior Accountant will ensure financial integrity, provide insights to support business decisions, and help drive efficiency across our retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for retail operations

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies

Prepare financial statements, reports, and analysis to support management decision-making

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for retail stores

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, merchandising, and finance, to support business initiatives

Support internal and external audits, providing required documentation and analysis

Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations

Mentor junior accounting staff and assist with training when needed

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)

5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or consumer goods

Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial reporting

Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics and Excel

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration across teams
