The Accounts Payable Specialist performs a broad range of duties in support of the cash disbursements process include: invoice processing, payment generation, and vendor problem resolution. Identifies and evaluates accounting/procedural problems and recommends corrective measures. Interfaces internally with numerous departments, and all levels of management, and externally with auditors and suppliers daily. Work is generally performed with minimum supervision. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Performs a variety of accounts payable related duties such as:

Process accounts payable data, including purchase order and non-purchase order related invoices, and monthly recurring payments

Complete payment proposals and distributions including required audits and controls

Secure invoice approvals as needed following policy guidelines

Maintain the vendor master files for accounts payable owned fields for new and existing vendors

Research and resolve vendor invoice/payment inquires timely

Identify/evaluate, and recommend procedural enhancements

Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements Education

Associate Degree in Business Administration with an Accounting major or equivalent work experience is required.

Experience

Requires a minimum of 4 years of related accounting clerical experience (Accounts Payable preferred) that provided a knowledge of basic accounting principles.

SAP experience preferred

Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, ability to multi-task

Self starter

Strong numerical and keying abilities

Experience in the Manufacturing industry a plus

Outstanding customer focus including attributes of empathy, compassion, and service orientation

Passionate and high energy which can assist in selling future vision to customers

Strong detail orientation, with focus on data quality

Adaptability/flexibility which includes being open to change and conducting business differently

Focused on continuous learning and developing new skills

Savvy with technology which includes use of web-based platforms, case management, etc.
