Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Sugar Land, Texas. This is a Contract position where you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting essential accounting operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in accounting principles, and capable of handling complex reconciliations and journal entries.

Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly financial packages for platforms such as Amazon and Walmart, including manual journal entries for sales, discounts, refunds, fees, inventory, and other relevant areas.

Record and reconcile general ledger entries during the month-end close process.

Conduct monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts, providing detailed insights to management.

Manage inventory transactions by recording and reconciling data accurately.

Perform regular inventory reconciliations, both monthly and annually, ensuring alignment with financial records.

Compile and analyze inventory data for inclusion in financial statements and management reports.

Complete monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.

Support financial close processes across various periods, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and handling accruals.

Maintain the general ledger to ensure accurate financial records.

Execute global month-end closing activities related to inventory, reserves, and accruals, including creating journal entries and supplemental financial schedules. Requirements - Strong knowledge of corporate tax, including sales tax and corporate tax return preparation.

Proficiency in preparing and reconciling journal entries.

Experience with general ledger maintenance and management.

Ability to perform detailed account reconciliations and provide thorough explanations.

Familiarity with inventory accounting and reconciliation processes.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Capability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports.

Previous experience with month-end and year-end closing activities.
