Description

Our client, a respected nonprofit organization, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who values mission-driven work and is eager to support causes that make a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards

Process journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and support monthly and year-end closing procedures

Reconcile bank accounts and monitor grant funding allocations

Prepare financial statements, reports, and grant-specific reporting for management and board review

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Support annual audits by providing timely and accurate documentation

Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements for nonprofit organizations

Collaborate with program staff to monitor expenses, resolve discrepancies, and educate on financial policies

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

1+ years of accounting experience; prior nonprofit experience strongly preferred

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Familiarity with nonprofit fund accounting and grant reporting is an advantage

Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
