The Role: The CRM team is responsible for all email, app push, and SMS communications between Wayfair and our customers. As an Email Manager, you will oversee the daily operations and performance of the email channel, one of the company's largest drivers of engagement. Reporting to the Associate Director of CRM, you will be responsible for executing an aggressive testing roadmap, monitoring channel health, and managing a team of direct reports. This role is perfect for a data-driven marketer who enjoys coaching a team and thrives in a fast-paced, high-execution environment.
What You'll Do
Monitor Channel Performance: Act as the daily owner of health metrics for the email channel. You will track performance against goals, provide regular reporting updates, and escalate or solve technical issues as they arise.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of analysts (approx. 3-5), focusing on their professional development, workload prioritization, and the delivery of high-quality work.
Execute the Roadmap: Translate the long-term email vision into actionable plans. You will identify immediate opportunities for improvement and manage the end-to-end execution of new initiatives.
Drive A/B Testing: Lead the implementation of a robust A/B testing roadmap. This includes planning 6-month cycles, ensuring tests are statistically sound, and analyzing results to inform future campaigns.
Support Commercial Bets: Execute marketing strategies for key business priorities, such as the Rewards program and Wayfair Verified, ensuring the email channel supports broader company goals.
Subject Matter Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of our marketing tech stack and operating model to serve as a key point of contact for the email channel.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Data Science, and Creative teams to ensure marketing assets are launched on time and technical capabilities are utilized effectively.
Culture Setting: Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, serving as a motivator and resource for your direct reports.
What You'll Need
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a quantitative field preferred.
Experience: 4-6 years of experience in data-driven marketing, consulting, tech, or strategy. Prior experience specifically within email marketing or CRM is highly preferred.
Management: 1+ years of experience directly managing or leading others, with a proven ability to delegate and coach junior team members.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker). Advanced skills in Google Sheets or Excel.
Analytical Mindset: Familiarity with A/B testing fundamentals (significance, sample sizing, and KPI selection).
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present data-driven findings to stakeholders.
Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple projects at once and pivot quickly in a fast-paced retail environment.
