About the Role
PAR Electric is seeking an experienced Substation Construction Manager to lead and oversee substation construction projects based in Englewood, Colorado. This role is responsible for managing all phases of substation construction-from planning and mobilization through execution, closeout, and turnover-while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
The position requires overnight travelto project sites and brings a strong field presence, deep knowledge of substation construction practices, and the ability to coordinate crews, subcontractors, and stakeholders in a fast-paced utility construction environment.
Salary range will be $120,000 - $150,000, based on experience
What You'll Do
What You Will Do
Plan, manage, and oversee substation construction projects, including greenfield, brownfield, expansions, and upgrades.
Lead field supervision, crews, and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of work.
Enforce PAR Electric safety policies, OSHA requirements, and client-specific safety standards at all times.
Coordinate project schedules, manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project milestones and deadlines.
Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, inspectors, vendors, and internal project teams.
Monitor project costs, productivity, and budgets; identify risks and implement corrective actions as needed.
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work plans to ensure accurate execution.
Support estimating, work planning, and constructability reviews as needed.
Manage project documentation including daily reports, schedules, change orders, and closeout packages.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, environmental requirements, and contractual obligations.
Mentor and develop field supervision and craft personnel.
Support project closeout, testing coordination, punch lists, and turnover to the client.
Travel overnight to project sites as required to support construction activities.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of experience in substation construction, including leadership or supervisory roles.
Strong knowledge of substation construction methods, sequencing, and safety requirements.
Experience managing field crews, subcontractors, schedules, and budgets.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with construction management tools, scheduling software, and reporting systems.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel overnight as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on utility-scale substation projects for investor-owned utilities, cooperatives, or municipalities.
Familiarity with union and non-union construction environments.
OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.
Experience with energized substations and outage coordination.
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management experience.

Compensation Range
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $120,000.00/Yr. - USD $160,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
