Description We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity within a reputable non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle financial operations efficiently. This position offers a dynamic mix of onsite and remote work depending on the employment arrangement.

Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions promptly and accurately.

Manage payroll tasks using Paylocity, ensuring timely and error-free payroll processing.

Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.

Assist with maintaining and updating financial records in QuickBooks.

Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Handle financial documentation and reporting for audits and reviews.

Provide assistance with ad hoc financial tasks and special projects as needed. Requirements - At least 1 year of accounting experience, preferably within a non-profit organization.

Proficiency in QuickBooks is highly desirable.

Familiarity with Paylocity for payroll processing is a strong advantage.

Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.

Ability to perform bank and credit card reconciliations accurately and efficiently.

Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks.

Eagerness to learn and adapt to new accounting systems and processes.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred but not required.
