Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the Quality Assurance department and managing all activities related to the Quality and Environmental Management Systems. This role ensures compliance with applicable standards, drives continuous improvement, and supports organizational objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and improve the Quality Management System and Quality Policy.
Serve as the primary liaison for ISO-9001, AS9100D, ISO-14001, and ISO-17025 certifications.
Lead risk management initiatives and report findings to senior leadership.
Mentor and develop team members; train internal auditors.
Oversee product inspection and certification processes.
Perform all managerial responsibilities for the Quality Assurance department.
Disposition Authority for Non-Conforming products granted by the Director of Quality.
Secondary Responsibilities as Required
Supervise product inspection and certification process.
Education and Experience
Associates degree (minimum) in related field
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Membership preferred
Aerospace industry experience required.
8 years of experience in Quality Management System development; 5 years in Environmental Management Systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated success with manufacturing, purchasing, engineering and suppliers.
Demonstrated success as a member/facilitator of cross-functional teams
Ability to work with people to get to root causes and to encourage better performance
Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook
Proficiency in MS Office and excellent communication skills in writing policies, procedures, work instructions, and reports.
Familiarity with product design/engineering documents and GD&T.
ISO-17025 auditor training
Strong knowledge of ISO standards, auditing, and problem-solving methodologies (8D, RCA, 5-Why etc.).
Understanding of individual contribution to product conformity and product safety.
The importance of ethical behavior.
