Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join our team in York County, South Carolina. This role focuses on general criminal defense, representing clients in a wide range of misdemeanor and felony matters at the trial level.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on courtroom experience, strong client management skills, and the ability to handle cases from intake through resolution. This is a full-time position, with a strong preference for working on-site five days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Represent clients in general criminal defense matters, including misdemeanors and felonies

Handle cases from initial appearance through trial, plea, or resolution

Conduct court appearances in York County and surrounding jurisdictions

Draft and argue motions, including suppression, discovery, and dismissal motions

Negotiate with prosecutors and advocate for favorable case outcomes

Communicate regularly with clients regarding case strategy and developments

Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to manage an active caseload

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of criminal defense experience

Experience handling general criminal defense cases at the trial level

Active and good standing license to practice law in South Carolina

Strong courtroom presence and litigation skills

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Ability to manage deadlines and maintain a high-volume caseload

Commitment to client advocacy and ethical practice
