Austin Industrial is a merit shop, employee-owned company and has been a provider of construction, maintenance, plant services, turnaround and specialty services to the oil, gas and chemical, energy (power and ethanol), and manufacturing industries for more than 60 years.
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Piping Foreman. This person will provide continuous oversight of execution of maintenance work, communication any deviations to work, communication any deviations to work schedules, insuring any noted improvements to the execution process are clearly communicated, and necessary closure and reliability data is promptly inputted for each job. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities - May directly or indirectly supervise workers in the Operations Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Austin Industrial's policies & procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Responds as necessary to support emergency and reactive orders
Reviews call-outs with maintenance coordinator
Reviews job scope and timing and assigns appropriate crafts to complete emergency and reactive orders during normal working hours
Provides technical support or solicits support to conduct root cause failure analysis
Provides technical support or solicits support to initiate the MOC process, if necessary
Ensures that documentation is completed and that tools and material are returned or repaired
Participates in the development of quality job plans by working with the planners and participates in the field walk through
Participates in the development of the weekly maintenance work schedule
Reviews and fills assigned job packages
Provides resource availability count to scheduler
Reviews schedule and provides constructive feedback, as necessary
Ensures published schedule is executed as planned or ensures that necessary adjustments are made
Prints work orders and assign craftsmen
Makes resource changes based on input from scheduler (maintenance coordination and equipment availability)
Leads tool box safety meetings, communicates schedule changes, as necessary, and reviews job scopes with craftsmen
Communicates and makes necessary adjustments to complete or reschedules jobs that go beyond original scope of work
Ensures the MOC process is initiated for job scope changes
Works with material coordinator to get tools and materials for scope changes and to return non-stock parts, tools and equipment at the ne of the job
Interacts with work permitting process as needed and ensures that all applicable safety procedures are followed
Ensures that jobs are properly completed in a timely fashion
Ensures unused stock parts are returned to the storeroom
Ensures rental equipment is taken off rent and necessary changes to requisitions are made
Ensures vendor operations are properly closed
Ensures that repairable parts process is properly initiated
Ensures proper job plan feedback is provided to the planners from craftsmen
Participates in the identification and implementation of reliably driven improvements
Ensures work group has a full understanding of the work flow process
Ensures operations on an order which are complete are CNF'd
Ensures all history/reliability data has been entered
Promptly close (teco) orders upon job completion

Qualifications

Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. For safety reasons, it is imperative that the employee be able to read and speak fluent English.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
