Description We are looking for a skilled AP Accountant to join our team in Belleville, Illinois. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment by managing financial transactions and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in accounts payable, general ledger activities, and reconciliations, along with a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and timely payments.

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure accuracy in financial records.

Manage accounts receivable activities, including billing and collection efforts.

Prepare and post journal entries to record financial transactions.

Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and bank statements.

Monitor and resolve discrepancies in financial data and reporting.

Collaborate with internal departments to support financial audits and compliance requirements.

Generate detailed financial reports to assist management in decision-making.

Analyze financial transactions to identify trends and maintain accuracy.

Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards in all accounting tasks. Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on accounts payable and general ledger.

Proficiency in managing accounts receivable and performing journal entries.

Strong expertise in conducting bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

Familiarity with accounting software and tools used in the manufacturing industry.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to handle financial data.

Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.

Strong communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory compliance standards.
