Are you someone who loves hands-on work, staying active, and learning real trade skills? Our construction shop is growing, and we're looking for a reliable, motivated Construction Shop Helper to join our team. If you enjoy working with tools, supporting skilled carpenters, and being part of a fast-paced production environment, this role is a great fit.

You'll work side-by-side with shop leads and carpenters to keep operations running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

?? What You'll Do

Assist with cutting, measuring, and preparing materials for carpenters and assemblers

Operate basic shop tools: saws, drills, hand tools, nail guns, and more

Load/unload materials and keep workstations stocked and organized

Maintain a clean, safe shop environment

Support assembly of walls, trusses, stairs, and other building components

Help with staging, palletizing, and prepping orders for production

Perform general labor tasks as assigned by shop supervisors

?? What Makes You a Great Fit

Can read a tape measure accurately to 1/8"

Comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools

Able to lift 50-75 lbs as needed

Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn

Thrive in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment

Dependable, team-oriented, and safety-minded

Experience in construction, carpentry, manufacturing, or general labor is a plus

Familiarity with nail guns, table saws, chop saws, or pneumatic tools

Forklift or material-handling experience is helpful

Basic blueprint reading is a bonus

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HUGO, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
