Researches a variety of sources, analyzes, and initiates actions on tax issues obtaining applicable returns, schedules, and all required information for correction of accounts and records; verifies, analyzes and adjusts taxpayer accounts. Secures payment of delinquent taxes and filing of delinquent returns. Determines financial, levy source, adjustment and uncollectible information; advises taxpayers of appeal procedures. May serve as a technical advisor, OJT coach, classroom instructor, or reviewer, and provide technical assistance on systemic problems and inconsistencies in IRMs. Performs other duties as assigned. This position has career progression. If you are selected at a grade level lower than the full working level, you may be non-competitively promoted as your career progresses.
