Sun America LLC is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support our Accounts Receivable and Inventory functions. This role plays a key role in ensuring timely cash application, accurate customer account balances, and reliable inventory records. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working across departments, and takes pride in accuracy and follow-through while supporting a collaborative accounting team.

The Accounting Clerk -- Accounts Receivable & Inventory supports the accounting department by managing customer receivables, applying cash accurately, supporting collections efforts, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This position works closely with Sales, Operations, and Accounting to ensure financial data is accurate, timely, and aligned with company policies and internal controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Apply and post cash receipts to customer accounts accurately and timely

Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable balances

Support collections efforts, including customer follow-up and dispute resolution

Research and resolve customer account discrepancies

Reconcile AR activity to the general ledger

Perform inventory cycle counts, investigate variances, and support inventory adjustments

Coordinate with Operations and Warehouse teams to resolve inventory discrepancies

Prepare AR and inventory-related reports as requested

Support audits, reporting, and special projects related to AR and inventory

The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees share responsibility for the quality of products and services provided to our customers. Duties must be performed in accordance with Sun America, LLC policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, cash application, collections, or inventory accounting Experience with cash receipts, customer account reconciliation, and collections activities Experience performing inventory reconciliations and cycle counts, including variance investigation Strong understanding of debits and credits and general ledger activity Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, lookups, basic analysis) Experience working in an ERP system preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Professional communication and customer service skills

Shift and Schedule Full-Time Monday through Friday Hourly position

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods of time Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer and office equipment Ability to view computer screens for extended periods Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
