The Assistant Project Manager Intern will learn project management methods and strategies and become familiar with company systems and the glass, glazing, and metal panel industry. In our summer internship program, you'll work alongside professionals in the industry while also engaging in events just for interns, including a jobsite ride along, Insights Discovery Workshop, mentorship opportunities, and more! Our internship program lasts 12-weeks, with flexible start and end dates to meet the needs of your school and extracurricular schedule. Responsibilities The basic responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager Intern include but are not limited to: Collaborate with the project team to plan, setup, and manage construction projects. Navigate and use Egan's project management systems and processes. Assist senior staff by observing, learning, and participating in some of the following tasks: Set up projects to meet or exceed budgetary and timing goals. Order equipment and materials. Attend project meetings. Close out job with maximum profitability and customer satisfaction. Develop and foster long-term relationships with customers through quality performance of work. Promote a positive safety culture by following Egan's safety policies. Compose and edit meeting minutes, letters, memos, reports, and procedures; assist with change orders, project billings, and change request pricing. Process day-to-day administrative items (i.e. supply requisitions, RFI's, submittals, shop drawings, procurement, take-offs, etc.) as directed. Actively participate in Egan's Summer Internship Program and activities. Perform additional duties and assignments as requested/needed. Requirements Currently pursuing a two or four year degree in Construction Management, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Design, or related field. 0-2 years of construction and/or general business experience. Travel to jobsites and client sites may be required. Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills. Passion for the industry. Outstanding organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities. Courteous, professional, diplomatic, and highly motivated. Anticipates and adjusts to changing priorities and methods; willingly takes on new tasks and challenges. Excellent MS Office and Google Suite skills and ability/desire to learn new software systems. Working Conditions Performance of duties will mostly be in the Champlin office with visits to job sites as needed. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements. Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are frequent needs.
