Sanitation Specialist - Food Manufacturing Industry

Roles and Responsibilities:

Maintain and sanitize equipment, processing areas, and workspaces in strict accordance with company and regulatory guidelines

Disassemble and reassemble production equipment for thorough cleaning and sanitization

Monitor and document sanitation procedures, ensuring adherence to quality assurance protocols

Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and sanitation supplies

Inspect facilities daily to identify potential sanitation concerns or food safety hazards

Participate in regular training sessions on hygiene and food safety standards

Collaborate closely with the production and quality assurance teams to support a safe and efficient operation

Dispose of waste and manage environmental cleanliness throughout the facility

Respond promptly to sanitation-related emergencies to minimize risks

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or GED preferred

Previous sanitation or janitorial experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment strongly preferred

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and relevant food safety standards

Comfortable working with industrial cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals

Physically able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends if required
