Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Orange, California. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in general ledger accounting and a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

Perform monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet and cash accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Prepare and post journal entries in alignment with financial reporting standards.

Collaborate with the Grants department to reconcile grants and sub-grants on a monthly basis.

Supervise the Senior Financial Analyst in managing payables and cash receipts.

Provide support to the Controller during annual audits and assist as a secondary payroll processor.

Ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.

Utilize Sage Intacct software to manage accounting tasks effectively and efficiently.

Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.

Maintain an organized and accurate general ledger.

Assist in the development and implementation of improved financial processes. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.

3-5 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting.

At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting such as a hospital or outpatient clinic.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.

Strong knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software.

Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Experience in online payroll preparation.

Preferred experience in non-profit organizations and third-party billing or reimbursement processes.
