Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in St. Petersburg, Florida. This role requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you'll be a vital member of the accounting team. You will:

Support accounting functions across multiple affiliated entities

Record monthly transactions, accruals, and maintain fixed asset records in the general ledger

Prepare month-end and year-end reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheets; Investigate discrepancies and determine appropriate course of action for review and resolution

Oversee the accounts payable function ensuring proper vendor records, expense and project coding, approvals, and compliance with company policies

Work cooperatively with other accounting and operations personnel

Be partnered with an accounting manager who will provide mentorship and guidance as you work toward achieving your long-term career goals.

Requirements

2+years of experience in accounting or a related field.

Solid experience with journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

Strong foundational knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting concepts.

Familiarity with preparing year-end financial reports and supporting audits.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
