Description of Position:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department with day-to-day financial operations. This includes maintaining the general ledger, preparing and posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. The role also involves preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Duties:

Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.

Perform reconciliations for bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.

Prepare and analyze financial reports for management review.

Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting issues.

Requirements

Requirements of the Position:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.

Strong understanding of GAAP principles.

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables).

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Team-oriented with a proactive approach to tasks.

Experience with ERP systems (SAP and Oracle preferred).
