Position Summary...
Join Walmart as a Senior Finance Manager supporting the transportation business. This role provides strategic financial leadership across the Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Plan, owns complex cross-functional financial models, and partners closely with senior finance and business leaders to support informed decision making.
The Senior Finance Manager delivers high-impact financial analysis, proactively identifies risks and opportunities, and ensures alignment between financial plans and operational assumptions. This role also designs and manages financial control structures to reduce misstatement risk and improve the transparency and integrity of financial reporting. Success requires strong technical expertise, disciplined execution, and the ability to influence at the Director and Vice President level.
About the Team
The team supports financial performance management and decision making across Walmart's end-to-end transportation network, including ocean, domestic, and ecommerce transportation within one of the world's most complex supply chains.
We partner closely with transportation leadership, data analytics, and continuous improvement teams to enhance processes, improve reporting transparency, and align financial and operational plans. Through these partnerships, the team enables data-driven decisions and supports Walmart's broader strategic objectives.
What you'll do...
Lead financial planning for the transportation business, including AOP and LRP, ensuring alignment across income, expense, and operational assumptions.
Own and maintain complex financial models that integrate inputs across multiple business teams, ensuring accuracy and scalability.
Serve as a finance partner to Directors and Vice Presidents, proactively identifying forward-looking risks and opportunities and communicating financial implications.
Prepare executive-ready analysis, models, and materials to support strategic and operational decisions.
Collaborate with continuous improvement partners to validate initiatives, assess financial impact, and incorporate approved initiatives into planning and forecasts.
Identify and lead opportunities to leverage automation and AI to improve planning efficiency, data accuracy, and insights.
Analyze business performance, explain key variances, and deliver clear, actionable insights.
Design, manage, and enhance financial control structures to ensure accurate, transparent, and reliable financial reporting.
What You'll Bring
Experience using Power BI to analyze financial data and generate insights.
Working knowledge of SQL to extract, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling, planning, and forecasting.
Experience developing expense targets with cross-functional partners and aligning them to business objectives.
Strong organizational skills to manage complex planning cycles and timelines.
Strong communication skills, including presenting to senior and executive audiences.
Experience leveraging Walmart AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and business impact.
Proven ability to partner across departments to set efficiency goals, develop reporting, and deliver detailed financial insights to leadership.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 4 years' experience in accounting, finance, or related area OR 6 years' experience in accounting, finance, or related area.
1 year's experience leading and completing cross-functional projects.
